I didn’t recognize my own colleague / JAC employee …🫤

Embarrassing … I feel ashamed … 🙈
We were sitting in a lounge waiting to kick off a training session for part of our team, waiting for our colleagues from the Plzeň branch.
“Mr. Janouš, the service staff will be here shortly to check if we need any help and if everything is OK.”
A gentleman walked in, glanced around, and I (as is sometimes my bad habit) immediately jumped into the conversation …🙋♂️
“Hello, thank you so much, everything is great, we don’t need anything, and we’ll come find you if we do.”
Everyone else stared at me in disbelief 😱 … “Mr. Janouš, that is your employee from Plzeň, Mr. Weber, not a waiter….”
Embarrassing, awkward, shameful. 😕 I apologized, but for the first 10 minutes of the training, I was completely thrown off.
Yet every mistake is a chance to learn. 👇
I’ve decided that by the end of the year, I will visit at least 50 job sites across our teams. ❤️
I’ll bring our colleagues an estimated 250 lunches.🍔
I want to sit down and chat with everyone from operations over lunch. Not just about work, but about anything. Simply to get to know them better, because in the daily routine, we don't cross paths often enough.
I’ll likely drive around 15,000 km. 🚘
I never want to experience not recognizing my own JAC colleague / employee again. ⚠️
